A very fine pair of Chinoiserie prints using the Collotype process in very nice hand carved wood frames with beaded inner edge.
The images depict elegantly dressed Chinese ladies at tea and greeting each other in a garden pavilion setting with trees and red lattice fencing.
Collotype is a gelatin-based photographic printing process invented by Alphonse Poitevin in 1855. It was the first form of photolithography.
Presented under glass with the original hand carved wooden frames and matting.
Retains "Sungott Art Creations, New York" label on verso.
Condition is very good. Back has been previously opened.
1950s - 1960s.
