Absolutely exquisite antique Edwardian Mahogany Document Box / Letter Box or Dresser Trinket / Jewelry Box with Sterling Silver Mountings & Satinwood Inlay
This is a very fine mahogany box with hinged lid, the top edge with very rare sterling silver mountings in a lovely naturalistic design. The top face with a monogramed sterling silver plaque framed with a delicate inlaid design consisting of bellflowers, bows/ribbons, and rosettes.
The inside of the bottom section and lid stamped with Roman numerals as shown.
Condition is very good with expected surface wear and imperfections. Has original lock. No key.
Circa 1900 - 1920.
This gorgous and rare little box has a multitude of uses around the home or office - it would also make a lovely gift.
