An attractive and very unusual pair of Chinese hand decorated ginger jars with their fluted original tops/lids. Richly enamelled these Rose Famille jars have two panels on either side that reflect the life of the wealthy with their attendants in their garden pavilions with a background of mountainous scenery.
Ovoid bodies with fluted/pie crust lids topped with a green stem like finial.
A hard to find pair of matching ginger jars in this style.
The bases are both marked: with a red square double bordered six characters stamp: Tongzhi (1862-1874). These were most likely made in the first/second quarter of the 20th. Century.
Very good condition, no chips or cracks.
