A very unusual hand made Chinese ginger jar with lid. The hand painted shaded blue decoration features three double happiness symbols on either side with auspicious bats in-between the panels. Palest of blue drip glaze.
Ovoid/round in shape, complete with lid that features three further bats. Small imperfections can be seen in the porcelain which are totally appropriate for the age of the piece. This is the only ginger jar we have seen in this style.
