Old Chinese Cloud Dragon embroidery. A rectangular all silk 'rank badge' or panel.
This colourful Late Republic silk piece is eye catching, very intricately stitched with a off white/cream coloured all important five clawed dragon in the centre, chasing the 'eternal flaming pearl' on a teal blue/turquoise silk background with bats, stylised Chinese clouds in shimmering blues, pink, navy, teal and silver grey highlights. The mythical dragon hovers above a pink, aqua and turquoise moutainous scene with pink flowers. All very symbolic and auspicious.
Intricate khaki brocade border.
Backed on to thick paper and mounted in a simple brown wood frame behind glass.
A nice piece for the home.
