A richly hand painted ovoid ginger jar - Satsuma (Japan) in style. Brightly coloured oranges, royal blues and gold throughout typical of the style. The enamelled two side scenes portray a gorgeous basket of chrysanthemums whilst the other two panels, a group of traditionally dressed Chinese ladies by their garden pavillion. Original decorative top and lower and upper borders of flowerss and leaves. Gold highlights througout.
