A beautiful mid 19th Century antique Chinese porcelain ginger jar with wax export seal. Blue & white over-glazed enamel on a celadon background depicting auspicious and precious objects including buddhist footprints. The condition is good. No damage or repairs. Typical minor fritting around inside of top rim.
The lid has a slightly different celadon hue and is decorated with three stylised bats. The lids on these pieces were fired in separate batches and matched up after the fact. It fits perfectly and we feel it is that it is original.
Desirable Government Antiquities wax export seal still in place on underside.
