Massive 42" Antique Chinese Bronze Champleve / Cloisonne Palace or Floor Vase With Elephant Handles
Mixed use of champleve and cloisonne techniques throughout the piece.
Elephant form handles with red glass eyes on either side.
The top of the vase is formed as an elegant lotus blossom, with further multi coloured lotus flowers on the body.
The central portion on the front and back have eleborately bordered scenes portraying two stylized and colourful phoenix birds in flight.
The neck with a similar wrap-around phoenix birds design.
The bottom section with a wrap-around scene portraying dragons chasing the flaming pearl.
Lots of traditional Chinese auspicious design elements and objects throughout the piece.
The underside is signed with a bronze plaque designating the maker.
Age is early - mid 20th Century.
Condition is very good with typical expected surface corrosion in multiple places. This is a heavy piece please note.
