A very detailed hand painted old Chinese ginger jar with an unusual 'continuous theme' around the body, on a navy blue background. Family scenes, auspicious cranes fly over a new born infant in a garden setting, traditional landscaping and swirling clouds, detailed pine trees and immortals in the heavens. Ovoid in shape with high shoulders with 'ruyi' border, decorated lid with a miniature landscaped theme, pale blue and pink lower lappet borders, ruyi border around the top. This very special piece is in very good condition.
The base is unmarked and this jar was most probably made in the first quarter of the 20th. Century & has the necessary ceramic inclusions, good enamelling and base. Stand for presentation only.
