Original rosewood frame holds a very finely hand painted scene on glass. It is delightful and portrays traditionally clothed mothers/nannies and children in an elegant room, their pair of pet white rabbets in the foreground wondering what's going on! Ornamental Chinoiserie style cast metal hanging bracket fastened to top. A very cute, whimsical piece. No markings. Antique, Republic period. Circa 1940-50s. Condition is very good with very minor expected signs of wear and age. A charming piece. Overall with frame: 16" wide x 22" high x 3/4" thick.
