Antique Chinese Navy Blue Framed Silk Embroidered Panel, Landscape, Flowers and Golden Bats
This is a large scale rectangular hand stitched embroidery that has been preserved behind glass, in a classic Chinese style black wood frame with golden corner highlights. Gorgeous shades of blues, beiges, taupe, muted jade green and bronze feature in this work of art.
The silk piece depicts an idyllic landscape of rivers, mountains, trees and temples, that flow upwards in the traditional style of traditional Chinese landscape art. The background is has a multitude of auspicious symbols such as peaches, peonies, lotus, chrysanthumums, red crowned cranes under pine trees. Four golden bats adorn each corner, encompassing the scene.
From our modern perspective it is hard to comprehend the amount of time, energy, and talent that went into making this piece.
A beautiful wall hanging or picture that certainly makes an impact where it is hung.
