Made in the great historic city of Shanghai, China in the 1950'-60's - we were tremendously lucky to find a set of six of these (now 5) stunning solid rosewood drum stools. The richly coloured rosewood is mature and heavy, a quality not found today and when seen, this can be observed. Carefully hand carved clouds & dragons decorate the sides and legs, whilst raised bosses decorate the edges of the top and base area. Turned circular or round tops. Simple elegance at it's best. Old fashioned copper metal makers label on underside not seen these days. All wood construction. A rare opportunity to purchase these timeless and useful pieces - we have 6 for sale in total - you may need a pair, all six or a single one.
