Very rare Chinese octagonal bowl painted with continuous highly detailed mountain and lake scenes with sampans and junks in underglaze blue. Small Chinese houses and temples nestle in the hills and mountains. This wonderful bowl is from the 18th century or earlier and is characteristic of the prized Bleu de Hue designs which were made for the Vietmanese market.
No Markings. Age: 18th Century. Chinese.
Acquired from a collector of Chinese porcelains who has amassed such over the last 40 years. Condition: Excellent.
Dimensions: 4 1/2" tall x 7 1/4" diameter. Foot rim is 4" diameter. 1.9 pounds.
