Rare Chinese painting on glass portraying an elaborate and traditional Officials parade with 37 people in rank order and 9 horses, remarkably each with their own individual personality.
Meticulously hand painted in antique white and gold on glass against a dark rich "tortoiseshell" background. The people wear very traditional Chinese robes with magnificent head gear, some holding swords, ropes, large banners and incense burners.
Presented in an elegant ebonized lacquer boxed style frame with a gold inner frame.
Calligraphic characters on the flags at the far right.
This piece of art work could be placed in many an area in the home as it's long and narrow and will fit into many a space, for example above a console.
