Fine Chinese double sided embroidery of elegant Red Crowned Cranes presented under glass in carved swivel frame. The scene is visible from both sides and the detail is amazing. Probably made in the city of Suzhou, famous for it's hand made embroideries.
Both a pleasing scene & palette of colours - various shades of greens, white and black/brown.
No markings.
Vintage 1940-50's.
Condition: Minor expected age issues including some tearing in the silk background fabric in places that actually look like part of the lake (see photos).
Overall 25" x 15" x 1/2". The image is 19" x 9 1/2".
