**Free shipping. A heavy stone seal chop from the mountainous area of Shoushan know for it's special stone. This oval form seal is topped with a smoothly carved figure of a horned ram, with incised Chinese characters on the body - a written verse.
Shoushan stone is quarried from a mountain called Shoushan in northern Fuzhou. With a soft, smooth surface and variegated colours, this stone is an ideal material for carving. During the Yuan and Ming (1271-1644), Shoushan stone became popular for seal carving for the imperial families/gentry.
Signed with engraved calligraphy. Stamp on underside.
Condition is very good with typical expected very minor surface wear.
