Republic period cylinder vase or hat stand attractively hand painted with a scene portraying a pair of red-crowned cranes perched on a rocky outcropping under a pine tree & surrounded by traditional rock landscape with auspicious colourful and bright flowers such as peonies and chrysanthemums. The dark brown/ebony stand compliments the piece well.
The underside with a Jian Ding export wax seal that certifies that this is antique.
Circa 1920s - 1930s.
Excellent condition. Has minor manufacturing flaws typical of the period.
