A pair of very fine and vibrantly coloured Chinese Republic period porcelain vases. Carefully hand painted in an all-around continuous scene depicting a procession of scholars and dignitaries carrying objects such as precious red coral and large seashells.
Crisp colours on white porcelain with an unusually detailed fine black and white shoulder border.
The underside has a reign mark in red together with "CHINA" stamped in red. Also has red oval guild/association marks painted within the scene.
Age: Circa 1930.
Acquired from a collector of Chinese porcelains who has amassed such over the last 40 years.

Dimensions: 13 1/2" tall x 4 3/4" diameter. 4.1 pounds total weight for both pieces.

Condition: Very good. Each has a: drilled hole in bottom to accommodate lamp wiring. One has a virtually invisible stress crack in the neck which is contained within the neck and does not go out to the rim. Consequently, the piece still rings like the other one and appears to have good integrity.
