Vintage seated Buddha, carefully hand carved in white soapstone - with very faint and very small gray flecks. The figure is very nicely detailed, the robed figure is known as the Medicine Buddha - and is seated on a nicely detailed double lotus platform on a rectangular stand - all one piece. The left hand holds a bowl of herbs, whilst the other holds a single Myrobalan fruit (terminalia chebula) or a small 'pill'.
Approximately 40 years old and purchased in Thailand.

A pretty and decorative ornament that can be used in many places inside the home.
