Attractive pair of vintage Chinese large-scale Famille Noire hand painted gold fish bowl planters in amazing condition. Classic form with waisted neck. The bodies have a wrap-around traditional Chinese scene portraying multi coloured phoenix birds perched on flowering trees against a black glaze background. The flowers are primarily peach/orange, lilac/purple and white. Traditional rock formations in gray/green and white.
Wave design at top rim. FIve orange goldfish swim in the interior.amongst pond weed.
Hallmarked on underside with a Qianlong reign seal mark stamped in red.
Great decorator peices for hallways, lobbies, entrances or wherever a little interest is required.
