A set of 12 hand-painted dinner plates in the Mille Fleur or "thousand flowers" design. Very rare to find a pristine set of 12 in like-new condition.
Each stamped on the underside with the Jingdezhen China hallmark. Jingdezhen has been the center for the finest Chinese porcelain production for over a thousand years.
The Mille Fleur (Fr.) decoration, meaning the "thousand flowers design" first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong and was carried on throughout the subsequent Jiaqing and Daoguang periods. The design symbolised "all the flowers bestow their blessings".
Circa 1970's.
Excellent, like-new condition.
Each is 10" diameter x 1" high.
