Rare 1950s Large Chinese Crackle Ware 'The Six Warriors" Ceramic Umbrella Stand, Signed

A rather magnificent and very unusual Oriental umbrella stand from the Chenghua Nian Zao - "Chenghua Period Made". 'Ge' Ware pottery.
A crackle glaze piece with well executed and richly coloured hand painted enamel decoration and etched iron brown bands with an incised brown ground base mark. The enamel is of an excellent quality - high relief.
The main theme consists of individual Chinese warriors in full traditional attire alternating with decorative vases, full of an abundance of flowers and auspicious objects.
A pink and yellow Ruyi shaped border below the higher brown band, green palm leaves are below the lower brown border. Gilt upper border with further flowers and auspicious objects.
A truly unique as well as useful storage piece for umbrella, walking sticks, gold clubs etc.
