Old Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar With Blue Birds, Flowers and Gilt Work
A larger than average Chinese ginger jar profusely hand decorated with gilt and enamels throughout. Somewhat Satsuma in style.
A pair of blue birds are the main focus on the two decorative white panels, amongst a traditional rocky landscape. Orange and white cherry blossoms and pink chrysanthemums add further interest.
The sides are rich blue overpainted with lots of gold and swirls of green leaves around blue and purple chrysanthemums. Upper and lower brick red and orange borders with stylised jade green clouds on the lower area of the top. Marked Great Qianlong with red six character mark.
