Attractive Hong Kong Chinese vintage porcelain ginger jar with original carved rosewood lid and matching stand. Hand painted in Hong Kong with a wrap-around design in rich blue, red, pink and green enamels. The front and back each with a double-white fish motif meticulously painted in dark brown. The fish are presented against scrolling vines in greens with pink blossoms painted against a striking mottled blue background glaze. A rare and original vintage piece with very important symbolic significance.
The double fish brings good fortune of abundance and also good descendant's luck. Many people regard the double fish as an auspicious sign that will ensure that all their descendants stay safe and strong also regard it as a protective symbol.

A very nice as well as a complete eye catching decorative piece.
