Extraordinary pair of Chinese Cloisonne vases. Graceful form with wide flaring rim. Very heavy and well-made pieces with rich, beautiful enamels over solid cast bronze/brass. Each vase is fitted with brackets emulating dragon dorsal fins which separate the piece into 4 quadrants. Each quadrant has a unique still life design featuring precious objects, scholars objects, potted plants, & vases, and the scenes are opposing matches to the other vase.
Elaborate panels of traditional lotus & scrollwork designs finish the pieces. The inner rim of the neck is most attractively decorated with a ring of Lotus in blue, white and yellow.
Main colors are light blue, dark blue, turquoise, and white. A rare form with striking colors and designs.
Vintage, Mid-20th century. 1940-1980.
Condition is very good with minor signs of tarnish and finish wear at rims.
Signed on the underside with "Jingfa" and "Made in China" labels.  Further reading below.
