Mid 20th. Century Chinese Reverse Painted Glass Snuff Bottle, Flowers and Landscape, Signed & Boxed
This age old painting tradition continues on to the present day and this bottle is a fine example of such. It is exquisitely painted in great detail on this round shaped glass bottle.
The artist is was highly skilled in flower and landscape painting traditions, in the traditional Chinese style. One side portrays blue birds or jays amongst red leafed foliage, whilst the other side is a gorgeous landscape of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and rivers with boats.
It is matched with a green Jade stopper with corkr. Bone spoon.
The piece is not only signed/chopped, it also has two small inscriptions on the top of each painting.
We believe this is from Southern China, possibly Swatou/Shantou area.
A beautiful piece in its own labelled silk brocade presentation box, mid 20th. Century.
