India 1835 by John & Charles Walker fl. 1827-1895. A very interesting steel line engraving with full original hand colour by the above who were London map makers and engravers. They quickly adapted to the new medium of the steel plate which was ideally suited to their detailed and precise style.Their ability was recognised when they were appoint engravers to the "Admiralty".
These types of map look very classy in libraries, studies, offices or where ever you choose. Professionally framed in black with gold with matching deep purple/aubergine/maroon mat surround that picks up the colours in the map nicely.  Protected by glass.
Excellent condition for it's age.(Excuse the reflections in the glass)
