Impressive pair of Italian gilt wood wall shelves or sconces, hand carved as opposing eagles perched on a scrolled motif adorned with flowers. The head and wings of the eagle support the shelf above which is the most marvelous carved rim in a naturalistic design. The detail and quality of these shelves is amazing! On the back of each are two inset mounting brackets for a secure installation. Suberb for presentation purposed for example: a pair of prized busts, statues or sculptures or porcelain vases.

Condition is very good with some minor typical discoloration to the tops and a couple typical minor chips to the carving and loss to one petal under one eagle. Nothing out of the ordinary and certainly nothing that would subtract from the artistic merit of these fine pieces.

Each is 16" tall x 13 1/2" wide x 7 1/2" deep.
