On sale. A very pretty and fresh Chinese white glazed porcelain hand painted vase with various purple, orange and yellow chrysanthemums and dahlias flowers, cherry blossoms and butterflies. Globular shaped body with long straight neck decorated with branches and buds - typical Tianqiuping form. A lovely piece marked on the underside with a double bordered red stamp - Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi "Great Qing Qianlong Period Make". Tentative period 1950-75. This is a heavy piece that weighs approx. 18lbs and would look amazing in the right setting.

First developed during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644), these vases are notable for their heavily rounded bodies and long straight necks. During the Qing dynasty particularly in through the Qianlong period these became court favorites and were made using a wide variety of decorations. Among the wide range of antique Chinese vases this particular form is among the most enduring.
