Large Chinese Celadon Crackle Glaze Green Square-Form 'Cong' Vase
Age: 1920s to 1940s. Orange iron oxide line at foot rim - usually a sign of a fine earlier firing. Square form was popular during this period.
Condition is excellent.
A very nice decorative vase.
14 1/4" tall x 7" x 7".

Further reading: The shape comes from the Song 960-1279 and Yuan 1271-1368 dynasty’s then again during the Qianglong period 1736-1795. Again the form became popular in the 19th century as a porcelain form as opposed to jade. The original shape is a square, rising from the foot and surmounted by a short circular neck.
