Antique Japanese Satsuma Opposing Cabinet Plates - the 7 Gods of Good Fortune by Hododa, Meiji Period, Signed
Very fine opposing pair of Satsuma cabinet plates with scalloped rims. Meticulously hand painted/gilt scene portraying the 7 Gods of good fortune with a striking white scaled dragon winding its way among the Gods, a foreground of waves, a backdrop of mountains - all stylised.
Signed on the undersides with hallmark by Hododa.
Very good condition with some glaze discoloration on the undersides.
Each is 5" diameter x 7/8" tall.
