Attractive and somewhat rare Italian piece - a good sized antique serving tray with gold body and decorative red/orange highlights that fan out from the centre towards the edges. This special hand crafted piece has a real pie crust edge (i.e. not applied as is usual). The tray was hand made from a thick piece of wood, the center part carved out to leave the raised edge. Very difficult and time consuming workmanship that is reflected in the quality of this piece. 18th Century Italian tops were made like this. Later tops were applied. No markings. Condition is very good with typical minor wear & age. Age FIrst to Second Quarter 20th Century -- maybe 1920s to 1930s. A collectable piece.
