Antique Chinese Rose Canton Porcelain Bangchuiping Flower Vases With Wood Stands - a Pair
**Free shipping. A gorgeous set of Chinese Banchuiping Rouleau vases. A matching pair in the Rose Canton style. Double gourd vignettes on the shoulder area.
These nicely shaped vases are enamelled that is slightly raised to the touch, on an old gold/peach background that suggests these vases are of a higher quality - both vases are in perfect condition.
Each has a hand carved Rosewood stand included. Tidy footings & unmarked bases that indicate these were made well before the middle of 20th. Century, prior to the mass export market. Very nice classical decorative pieces.
The term Bangchuiping translates from Chinese to "Wooden Club". A name derived from this vases form of a cylindrical body with flat shoulders with a cylindrical flanged neck. French Asian art historians coined the term Rouleau due to it's roll-form body. The shape was developed during the Kangxi period (1661 - 1722.).
