Antique 19th Century English Georgian Mahogany Bed or Library Steps, hand-made, fine craftsmanship with an elegant slightly splayed form for stability, utilising mortise and tenon joinery; solid Honduras mahogany with good colour and figuring.
Still has the original inlaid green leather with tooled design highlighted in gold.
No markings.
Early 19th century.
Condition is very good with lots of lovely wear - expected minor repairs and signs of age. This piece is glowing with rich patina and has just the right amount of distress for a fine antique from this period. Ready for the four poster bed! Or your library.
