Very fine craftsmanship on this early French hand made dough box on stand or petrin. A highly usable compact size which could be put to use in a variety of ways. Would make a great TV stand, pedestal, chest, storage or blanket box to name but a few uses..
The upper section is dovetailed with a hinged lid, the interior with two divided bins. The bottom stand utilizes mortise & tenon joinery. The drawer is dovetailed with wrought iron hardware. The piece is paper lined.  Just the right amount of country charm - c'est parfait! Would blend with a variety of interior designs.
No markings.
Late 18th to early 19th century.
In remarkably good condition for the age. No major repairs or replacements.
Completely original including the iron fixtures and beautiful original finish.
