Very fine carved Chinese side table or stool with inset marble top. Expertly hand-crafted utilizing mortise & tenon joints and beautifully carved in a naturalistic design. The open carved skirt with leaf and berry forms. The legs carved with fruiting vines ending in hoof feet and the top edge is finished with lovely bead carving.
Circa 1890.
Condition is very good considering age. There are a few minor honest repairs to stabilize the piece over the years. Now very solid and ready to be put to use for the next generation.
Some manufactures markings are present, e.g. the underside of the marble, etc.
A gracious piece for the home that can be used as a side / drinks table, a display pedestal or a stool.
