Antique Chinese rosewood oval shaped stool or pedestal stand. Beaded edge with pink/brown marble inset top. Skirt is inlayed with iridescent mother of pearl scrolling flower work above the open fret work apron. Paw shaped feet. This heavy piece has been repaired in the past, see photos. Acceptable age related shrinkage - six pieces of MOP are missing. The repairs do not affect the integrity or the structure of this lovely piece, it is solid. Made early 20th C. or possibly earlier. Such items are now sought after by collectors and are getting harder and harder to find.
