19th English Porcelain Cobalt Blue Covered Urn Worcester Chelsea Design With Exotic Birds
English oval form covered urn with waisted foot rim. This is a fine 19th Century example, the design originating in the 18th Century from porcelain manufactories such as Worcester and Chelsea. The body has beautiful fish-scale cobalt blue glaze ground. Three gilt-bordered cartouches around the main body portray fanciful & colorful birds amongst trees and foliage over a white glaze ground. Smaller cartouches with insects at the top and foot rims. the cover with similar design and topped with a chrysanthemum-form finial. In person, this looks fantastic!

Condition is very good. Some minor old professional restoration noted on rim of lid (see photo).
