Sold. Gilt framed original oil on masonite painting entitled "The Screen Door" by Donna Phipps Stout.
Donna Stout is a listed American artist well know for her use of colour, texture and imagination.
Ms Stout specializes in renderings of still life which she infuses with a unique dynamic quality. This painting is an important example of her work and is highly sought after in today's market.
The Screen Door is a dimensional painting that lets one look out into the world and the woods beyond the screen door. The actual blue house door is still open with an umbrella hanging on the handle. The table is laden with fruit and flowers in bowls on crumpled fringed white cloths allowing one to assume the person had possibly returned from gathering such - or has just simply gone out.
This piece is signed by the artist and dated 1995 lower left. A brass plaque is mounted to bottom portion of frame with the artist's name and the painting title. The painting title is also inked on the verso.

Donna Phipps Stout (1944 - ): An American born artist who spent her childhood exploring her talents as an artist with the encouragement of her parents. She went on to earn a Masters degree at Indiana University and enjoys nature and landscapes. She had a desire to paint the intricate details she experienced, hence she turned to painting detailed still life scenes.
Through her 60 year career, these artworks have earned her many distinctions and awards, as well as being displayed in many renowned collections and museums.
Donna Stouts's artworks have sold for very high prices at major auction houses and in galleries around the world.
