1950s Chinoiserie Ming Design Rosewood Chest of Drawers by George Zee, Hong Kong
A George Zee Masterpiece chest of drawers hand made of solid red rosewood. Exquisitely carved in the Ming dynasty style with symbols of 'Longevity'. The detailing is just of the right level - simple and elegant. Brass handles on each of the four drawers. Two top smaller top drawers and two larger lower drawers. Made in the former British colony of Hong Kong on Nathan Road, Kowloon. Comes with a bevelled edge glass top to protect the beautiful wood.
Markings: Factory plaque mounted to back as shown.
Age: 1950s. A superb and heavy piece of furniture.
