1980's Chinese Cherry Blossom Red and Gold Carved Wood Cabinet With Drawers
Black and red lacquer with a profussion of gold cherry blossoms and flowers as well as blue bird carvings throughout the three sides. The black lacquer borders are hand painted with orange/beige/gold flowers, geometric patterns and scrolls right down to the legs.
The hand carving of the wood is very well done and gives a three dimensional effect. The top depicts a pair of blue birds perched at the end of a branch of orange and beige flowers that could be hibiscus. The top is plain black lacquer in very good order and is NOT splotchy as in the photograph. The camera lens reacts with the lacquer for some reason.
Traditional Chinese brass pull handles on main body.
The cabinet consists of a main upper section with a removalble shelf, and two lower drawers.
This piece has been well taken care of over the years.
Late 20th. Century. Hand made in China.
