William F. "Bill," passed away January 12, 2012. He was born September 9, 1924, in a farmhouse with mud walls in a small village in Kwangtung province, China.
At age 15, Bill came to the U.S.,
Under the trade name Bill Yee Associates, Bill and his wife Katherine imported an array of quality traditional Chinese arts and crafts. Bill went on to revive the lost Chinese art of "inside painting," creating a line of exquisite ornaments. This achievement was followed by a patented innovation of classic cloisonné ware, resulting in an elegant, translucent and lightweight cloisonné artform. At 74 years of age Bill earned his first patent. He received his 2nd patent two years later.
