Fine hand painted antique Satsuma covered box or catchall, the top with a golden fan design in high relief.
The fan delicately painted with a scene portraying a grist mill set on a mountain stream and surrounded by blossoming cherry trees. The sides painted with hanging trellises of flower blossoms. The body can best described as beige/cream coloured.
Signed with the Koshida factory mark in gold on the underside. Simple floral decoration on the inside.
Condition is very good with some minor glaze discoloration mainly on the underside of 
5 1/4" long x 3 3/4" wide x 2 3/4" tall.

Taishō period, (1912–26) period in Japanese history corresponding to the reign of the Taishō emperor, Yoshihito (1879–1926).
