Victorian masterpiece miniature painting on porcelain plaque.
This is a fine portrait of Queen Hortense that is presented in an elaborate brass Victorian gilt frame. This can be worn as a pendant. This would make a very nice gift or present or a great addition to a collection.
19th century. Condition is excellent.
Signed Indistinctly at bottom right. Also, has some hand written information on an old label on the verso.
Note we did not fully dismount the plaque from the brass fittings to examine the back of the porcelain for hallmarks.

The porcelain plaque is 2" diameter. Overall the piece is 3 3/4" tall x 2" wide x 1/4" thick.
About 2 ounces.

Further reading. Hortense Eugénie Cécile Bonaparte née de Beauharnais 10 April 1783 – 5 October 1837) was Queen consort of Holland. She was the stepdaughter of Emperor Napoléon I as the daughter of his first wife, Joséphine de Beauharnais.
