Beautiful Late Qing Dynasty storage box/bowl or container that is signed on both the lid and base. Topped with a cute foo lion or dog, who is surrounded by a ring of Greek key pattern carving and four panels of flowers: cherry blossoms, iris, chrysanthemums and bamboo. The body is lobed with traces of old lacquer work on the base and shoulder area. The base is banded with metal about 1" above the foot. The wood is rich chestut brown in colour and the graining of the wood compliments the style of the carving.
One of the nicest and not often seen pieces we have had in a while with a strong decorative appeal. This is a rare piece.
