Gorgeous Kamcheng "covered vessel" in traditional form with a turquoise crouching lion finial and pink knob handles with holes for where the wire handles once were.
Carefully hand painted in the striking Famille Jaune palette with an allover floral and scroll design including Buddhist symbols, bats and long life stylised calligraphy - over a yellow ground. Pink and blue ruyi border at the top rim and "stop light" border at the foot rim in contrasting turquoise glaze.
Marked on the underside with an overglaze Tongzhi Seal mark in red.
Excellent condition.
Mid century. Circa 1950/60.
