Porcelain English Crown Derby cachepot with graceful tapering form, waisted top & foot rims, & shell-form handles. Fine hand painted scenes on the front and back within gilt borders against a rich cobalt blue glaze ground. The scene on the front portrays a simple family including the mother, two children, and a dog on the streets of a 19th C. industrial English city. In contrast, the scene on the back portrays a small village at the foot of mountain range nestled by a lake.
Marked with the Derby Factory Crown signature hand painted in red on the underside. The remains of a museum control number is also present.

Condition is good with the exception of wear to gold. In addition, a kiln flaw to the gold is present at the left of the main scene.
A useful piece for small plants, ferns, make up brushes, bits and bobs - anything that needs a home.
