Very pretty and unusual Rose Canton porcelain and enamel ginger jar made in the first to second quarter of the 20th. Century. This is a very very finely hand painted & superior piece with its' lid in tact.
Ovoid in shape, this ginger jar has a white background with a multitude of traditional decorations and various Oriental objects, fruits, flowers, ribbons and gourds as well as exotic and colourful butterflies, or moths, one of which is on the lid. Traditionally the body is decorated auspicious objects meant to bring luck and fortune to the homes' occupants.
Highly decorative bisque/orange/red upper and lower borders on base and shoulder area. Base marked with a clear six character double bordered red under-glaze chop/stamp - Qianlong period.
Highly decorative piece - we all need a bit of auspicious luck! These will not disappoint.
